Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, debug, and deliver successful software solutions that support WatchGuard’s firewall and security products
• Develop resilient applications and services capable of withstanding multiple failures
• Build maintainable software products both individually and collaboratively
• Collaborate with other engineers on system design, architectural planning, and code reviews
• Investigate and recommend technology improvements, upgrades, and modifications
• Partner with cross-functional teams including IT Ops, Engineering, Product, Sales, Technical Support, and QA
• Mentor junior developers and help define team responsibilities

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• 8+ years of proven software engineering experience
• 5+ years of experience with the Microsoft solution stack (.NET, C#, MSSQL, PowerShell, Windows Server)
• Proven expertise in object-oriented programming
• Deep experience with .NET/.NET Core platform, including ASP.NET/Core and MVC
• Proficiency in MS SQL database design and development
• Experience using WCF, REST, XML, and JSON
• Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS cloud environments
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (AKS, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Lean, build processes, and CI/CD
