Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build scalable, maintainable, and well-tested software solutions to advance Disney’s media supply chain
• Design and implement a diverse suite of products and services for content title origination, metadata management, and localization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and propose solutions for complex technical problems
• Provide technical guidance, mentor junior engineers, and conduct thorough code reviews
• Maintain platform performance, scalability, and resiliency while troubleshooting complex issues and defects
• Contribute to the full application development lifecycle, including setting standards and ensuring design specifications are met

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience designing backend architectures and delivering production-grade applications
• Proficiency with Java, GraphQL, REST APIs, and microservice architectures
• Hands-on experience with the Spring Framework and async programming
• Experience with data store technologies such as MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Postgres, or DynamoDB
• Experience with AWS services including Lambda, EC2, S3, SQS, Step Functions, and Fargate
• Proficiency with build and deployment tools like Docker, Gitlab-CI, Terraform, or Jenkins
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous professional experience in media distribution
• Expertise in Java and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience working with vendor teams to deliver high-quality results
• Knowledge of performance testing and application profiling
