Responsibilities

• Design and build solutions to assist business users and improve customer experience
• Architect and design solutions in collaboration with the team
• Keep up to date with emerging technology trends
• Apply creative thought processes to solve complex challenges at scale
• Provide after-hours support on a rotational basis to resolve critical system issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5 to 10+ years of experience in a software development role
• Thorough understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience writing robust, efficient production code
• Proficiency in a strongly typed language such as Python
• Experience with development in a Linux environment
• Experience with SQL database systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL
• Experience with Memcached or Redis
• Knowledge of Message Brokers, Queues, and PubSub systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Experience with Containerisation (Docker) and Orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with GitHub, Travis CI, or Jenkins
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with Microservices architecture
