Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a research team to develop innovative solutions to complex problems
• Take ownership of significant project features and components
• Lead technical discussions, guide architectural decisions, and mentor junior engineers
• Develop and test novel software solutions for research and production systems
• Analyze and improve existing designs to optimize performance
• Develop operational prototypes for experimentation and performance analysis
• Create reliable and usable customer-facing operational systems

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering roles
• Proficiency in Python, C, C++, or similar low-level programming languages
• Experience with open architectures and rapid prototyping
• Strong knowledge of software testing and industry-standard development lifecycles
• Hands-on experience with GNU/Linux toolchains and open-source software
• Deep understanding of networking principles and the OSI stack
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance
• Advanced experience in Python, MATLAB, or other high-level languages
• Experience building and maintaining production-ready software systems
• Experience working in multi-party, large-scale codebases
• Success managing technical challenges in laboratory environments
• Familiarity with multi-threaded or multi-core real-time operating concepts
