Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop database engine features based on company direction and customer requests
• Deliver bug-free code in a low-level, unmanaged memory C++ environment
• Translate high-level customer requirements into actionable software features
• Adapt cutting-edge technologies into SingleStore’s database architecture for optimal performance
• Design and execute comprehensive test plans using Python, C++, and SQL
• Use low-level debugging techniques including GDB and Flame graphs to improve performance
• Work on distributed systems algorithms and core database engine components
• Participate in code and design reviews for software quality assurance

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing and debugging system-level software in C++ or Rust
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Demonstrated ability to design and build highly reliable, high-performance system software

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of database architecture and operating systems
• Familiarity with distributed systems managed via Kubernetes
