About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex reporting solutions for emergency response operations
- Build interactive dashboards and data visualizations for large datasets
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries involving CTEs, window functions, and aggregations
- Review database architectures to identify performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities
- Implement data aggregation strategies, materialized views, and summary tables
- Develop ETL processes and data pipelines optimized for analytics workloads
- Partner with Product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on reporting or BI
- 5+ years of hands-on experience writing complex SQL in production
- 3+ years working with large-scale databases (millions+ records)
- Expert-level SQL proficiency and deep PostgreSQL expertise
- Experience with AWS Aurora or cloud-based PostgreSQL solutions
- Strong programming skills in PHP (Yii framework preferred)
- Solid experience with Vue.js or modern JavaScript frameworks
- Knowledge of database design, normalization, and dimensional modeling
