Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Contribute to BESS data engineering by building and maintaining telemetry pipelines and stores
• Design, build, and maintain simulation and training infrastructure for running simulations at scale
• Develop and operate real-time forecast and optimization workflows
• Support energy market integration, including data ingestion and bid management
• Collaborate across the full stack and team boundaries to ensure product system integrity
• Write well-tested, well-monitored software and iteratively improve it
• Apply AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining high system design quality

Requirements

• B.S. or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• 2-5 years of experience in software engineering
• Strong software design instincts and systems thinking
• Ability to build available, reliable, scalable, and secure distributed systems
• Experience with Kubernetes, Rust, Python, NATS, PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB, or SQLite is a plus
• Bias toward action and a passion for sustainability
