Senior Software Engineer

Rec (recreation.ai) is using AI to reimagine how the world plays, participates in community, and gets active. We are a Series A company building a consumer product and an enterprise platform to modernize the fragmented global recreation industry.

Responsibilities

• Own CI/CD pipelines to ensure builds are fast, reliable, and easy to debug
• Build automated testing and end-to-end test coverage to catch regressions
• Maintain and improve local development environments for engineer productivity
• Manage data snapshots and seed data for local and staging environments
• Drive package upgrades, dependency hygiene, and platform maintenance
• Partner with Infrastructure and product engineers to identify and remove friction
• Use AI tools to accelerate developer workflows and automate tasks
• Contribute to product code when it intersects with developer experience

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in collaborative environments
• Significant experience with developer tooling, testing infrastructure, or CI/CD
• Deep expertise with CI/CD systems and debugging pipeline flakiness
• Mandatory fluency with AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor)
• Strong focus on testing as a product and high-quality shipping
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and communicate clearly and constructively

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in high-growth, scaling environments
• Proficiency with Next.js, React, TypeScript, Node.js, and PostgreSQL
