Senior Software Engineer, Platform Engineering

Responsibilities

• Ship foundational services to enable Klaviyo engineering to move faster with confidence
• Build a deep understanding of engineering needs to guide the design of platform primitives like Infra, Databases, and Queuing
• Design, develop, and deliver software to improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of core platforms
• Design and develop systems and processes that enable highly available and scalable applications
• Leverage Python, Go, AWS, and Kubernetes to advance the platform
• Mentor and pair with other engineers focusing on performance, self-healing systems, and configuration as code

Requirements

• BA or BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience operating and scaling complex distributed systems
• Experience working in a cloud-native environment
• Proven experience developing applications in Python and Go
• Experience operating Kubernetes at scale
• Experience with Terraform
• Fundamental understanding of Linux and the networking stack
• Experience in platform-related areas such as API gateways, observability, or asynchronous processing
