Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build robust, scalable, and user-centered systems cross-functionally with design and product management
• Take full ownership of major features from start to finish
• Design scalable permission systems to manage access to terabytes of data
• Architect frameworks for secure collaboration and advanced sharing mechanisms
• Tackle complex challenges including real-time user collaboration on maps and high-scale backend architecture

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience working with cross-functional software development teams
• Experience shipping and iterating on production-grade software components
• Ability to write robust, well-tested, and well-designed code
• Solid understanding of architecting and scaling distributed software systems
• Located in Washington, D.C. and open to working in office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python, Django, Celery, Airflow, or Kafka
• Experience with React, Redux, or Mapbox
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, or AWS infrastructure
