Senior Software Engineer

About the Company

OuterSignal is building the customer intelligence layer for commerce. Our platform enriches every order in real time with professional and personal signals, unlocking personas and powering everything from surprise-and-delight outreach to smarter email flows and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own core systems that process millions of orders across APIs and LLM pipelines
• Build queue-based microservices using Redis, Node.js, Typescript, Postgres, Docker/K8s, and Vercel
• Integrate vector databases and RAG pipelines to enhance customer profiles
• Ship features end-to-end including APIs, dashboards, and integrations like Shopify, Klaviyo, and Slack
• Maintain privacy and compliance standards
• Work directly with the Founding Team on roadmap, product direction, and engineering hiring

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering experience, ideally with backend infrastructure and distributed systems
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
• Fluency in JS/TS (Node.js)
• Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, etc.) and RAG architectures
• Proficiency in designing schemas and scaling Postgres

Preferred Qualifications

• Python or ML exposure
• Experience building around LLMs
• Experience building Shopify apps
• Experience with data-privacy frameworks
