Senior Software Engineer - Observability and Reliability

Responsibilities

• Build observability tools and platforms, including metrics, logging, distributed tracing, dashboarding, alerting, and application performance management
• Utilize modern tools and languages such as Go, OpenTelemetry, and Kubernetes
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure service uptime and reliability
• Create runtime tools and processes to optimize cloud triaging and minimize downtime
• Define best practices for making systems and services measurable
• Collaborate with peers through design and code reviews, spending a majority of your time coding

Requirements

• Strong Computer Science fundamentals
• 5+ years of industry experience building and maintaining high-quality software, particularly tools used by other engineers
• Experience with software maintenance and long-term system stability
• A product mindset applied to infrastructure systems
• Strong sense of craftsmanship and academic curiosity

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building systems for data analytics
• Distributed systems monitoring and profiling skills
• Knowledge of cloud application security models
• Experience administering cloud service infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Previous experience working in a startup environment
