Senior Software Engineer

About the Company

Nuna is building an AI health coach designed to help the 130 million Americans managing chronic conditions. We use motivational interviewing to help patients design experiments that fit their real lives and navigate the healthcare system.

Responsibilities

• Own meaningful features and services end to end, including design, building, shipping, and production operation
• Contribute to architecture decisions for AI/agent and product systems
• Write high-quality, well-tested, and observable code
• Treat privacy, security, and responsible health data handling as core responsibilities
• Break ambiguous product problems into shippable work with pragmatic trade-offs
• Partner with product, design, and Data organizations
• Mentor earlier-career engineers

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping production software
• Strong engineering skills in backend services, APIs, and system integration
• Experience with testing, deployment, and observability
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and move from rough problems to shipped solutions
• Clear communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Genuine interest in improving healthcare

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kotlin, TypeScript, React, or Flutter
• Experience with AI/LLM product systems or agents
• Experience with healthcare data or other high-trust, regulated domains
• Mobile development experience or bridging mobile clients and backend systems
• Experience shipping in early-stage or fast-moving consumer products
