Senior Software Engineer (Moodle + PHP)

Responsibilities

• Develop custom Moodle plugins, themes, and features
• Modify and extend Moodle core functionalities following coding guidelines
• Integrate Moodle with third-party tools and internal systems using REST and SOAP
• Manage Moodle database structures for performance and data integrity
• Implement security measures and ensure GDPR compliance
• Monitor and optimize platform performance and scalability
• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with instructional designers and technical teams
• Maintain detailed technical documentation

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of experience in Moodle development
• Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX
• Strong knowledge of Moodle API, architecture, and plugin development
• Experience with Moodle web services (REST, SOAP)
• Familiarity with SSO technologies (OAuth2, LDAP, SAML)
• Experience in Linux/Unix server environments
• Expertise with Git or version control systems
• Familiarity with SCORM and xAPI standards
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-hosted Moodle (AWS, Azure)
• Knowledge of Agile or Scrum processes
• Experience with mobile-responsive design and Moodle mobile app customization
• Experience in educational institutions or e-learning projects
