Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services for the Metropolis recognition platform
• Participate in the entire development lifecycle, including ideation and requirement identification
• Moderate technical discussions and evaluate new techniques for platform evolution
• Leverage automation testing and deployment for rapid feature iteration
• Ensure systems are highly available and scalable
• Work with partners to integrate products with the Metropolis platform
• Lead small teams toward common goals and facilitate clear outcomes
• Identify and drive improvements to existing components and systems

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• Advanced knowledge of Scala, Java, or related languages
• Proven track record designing large-scale distributed systems
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures
• Deep understanding of Agile, TDD/BDD, and CI/CD
• Experience with MySQL and Postgres
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly
• Deep AI fluency to drive technical architecture and execution

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with container technologies and infrastructure as code
• Experience in high-growth environments
• Experience using AI to identify behavior and intent from camera input
• Experience incubating 0-to-1 projects in mobility or hospitality
