Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services for the Metropolis incentive and rewards infrastructure
• Build real-time event streaming architectures to process high-frequency signals from the physical world
• Develop scalable compliance and preference management services
• Architect intelligent decisioning frameworks for personalized user experiences
• Create robust service architectures for product eligibility, partner configurations, and budget constraints
• Implement attribution and measurement systems to quantify engagement
• Scale and maintain multi-modal identity systems
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Data teams on the technical roadmap
• Mentor team members and lead technical discussions
• Drive the full software development lifecycle from conceptualization to deployment

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• Working knowledge of Scala, Java, or other JVM languages supporting functional programming
• Experience building distributed systems using microservices, SOA, and event-driven architectures
• Deep understanding of agile processes, TDD/BDD, and CI/CD
• Experience with database technologies such as MySQL and RDS
• Proven ability to design and build highly available and scalable systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professional exposure to large-scale, consumer-facing applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with container technologies and infrastructure as code
• Previous experience working in innovative, high-growth environments
