Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Drive architecture and technical design for highly available, scalable systems
• Own features end-to-end from technical spec to production rollout
• Incorporate AI capabilities into Lyft Business products to improve user experience
• Make well-reasoned trade-off decisions and communicate them to stakeholders
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and conduct high-quality code reviews
• Partner with engineering, product, and design teams to align on technical direction
• Engage in incident response and contribute to long-term reliability improvements
• Mentor team members and grow technical culture through design reviews and tech talks

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with production systems at scale
• Strong system design instincts and understanding of distributed systems
• Knowledge of how AI can improve product experiences
• Hands-on experience with large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming
• Solid foundations in relational and NoSQL databases
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
