Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and scale systems for Klaviyo’s AI-native conversational platform
• Design intelligent workflows, conversational experiences, and retrieval systems
• Develop foundational platform capabilities and customer-facing AI agent experiences
• Act as a technical leader and mentor to drive engineering quality and decision-making
• Deploy reliable, scalable, and thoroughly tested solutions

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• Proven track record of building high-quality, scalable, customer-facing systems
• Extensive experience in end-to-end software development (front-end and back-end)
• Experience leading projects and being accountable for technical outcomes
• Experience conducting code reviews and maintaining testing/deployment cycles
• Practical experience or strong interest in LLMs, AI tooling, or agentic workflows
• Strong product mindset and ability to solve ambiguous problems

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Python and React
• Experience building conversational AI, workflow engines, or agentic platforms
• Knowledge of retrieval systems, embeddings, and LLM orchestration
• Experience with cloud-native solutions (AWS)
• Experience with machine learning systems or AI infrastructure
• Experience building multi-tenant or highly configurable SaaS platforms
