Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build the foundation for Klaviyo's AI-powered conversational marketing experience
• Develop the native chat surface, agent orchestrator, and agentic UI framework
• Tackle complex technical and product challenges involving LLM-powered agents
• Act as a technical leader and mentor to drive engineering quality and execution
• Deploy well-designed, scalable, and thoroughly tested solutions

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• Proven track record of building high-quality, scalable, customer-facing systems
• Extensive experience in end-to-end software development (front-end and back-end)
• Experience leading projects and being accountable for technical outcomes
• Experience conducting code reviews and maintaining testing/deployment cycles
• Practical experience or strong interest in LLMs, AI tooling, or agentic workflows
• Strong product mindset and ability to solve ambiguous problems

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Python and React
• Experience building conversational AI systems or workflow engines
• Knowledge of retrieval systems, embeddings, or LLM orchestration patterns
• Experience with cloud-native solutions, specifically AWS
• Experience with machine learning systems or AI infrastructure
• Familiarity with observability, tracing, or AI evaluation tooling
