Senior Software Engineer - Java

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of microservices using Java, focusing on streaming, non-blocking, and reactive programming techniques.
• Drive the development of an innovative multi-asset trading platform on AWS.
• Mentor and guide junior team members to foster professional growth and technical excellence.
• Implement domain-driven design principles and participate in architectural discussions.
• Utilize technologies such as Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, and AWS to build scalable systems.
• Oversee technical documentation, including service APIs using Swagger, and ensure robust logging and security.
• Lead code review sessions and promote high maintainability through TDD/BDD approaches.
• Drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8-10 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on distributed architecture and large data volumes.
• Deep expertise in Java programming and reactive programming.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps toolchains, and agile delivery.
• Experience with messaging-based solutions (Kafka, IBM MQ) and data caching (Redis, Gemfire, or Apache Ignite).
• Proficiency with microservices, REST APIs, and event-based architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with the Spring framework and AWS cloud services.
• Experience working with trading systems and familiarity with the FIX protocol.
• Proven ability to solve complex, mission-critical technical problems.
