Senior Software Engineer - Integration

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of robust full-stack applications.
• Implement, manage, and optimize HL7 interfaces (v2.x, FHIR) and other healthcare data integrations.
• Develop and maintain scalable backend APIs and microservices for secure healthcare data exchange.
• Create and monitor data pipelines for ingesting and processing healthcare information using Kafka.
• Collaborate with Product, UX/UI, and QA teams to define requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Act as a subject matter expert to guide and mentor full-stack developers on integration tasks.
• Participate in architectural discussions, technical design decisions, and peer code reviews.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical and integration issues in production environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience in a full-stack or backend capacity.
• Hands-on experience with HL7 standards (v2.x and FHIR) and healthcare system integrations.
• Proficiency in at least two of the following: C#, Java, or Python.
• Proficiency in frontend development using Angular.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL Server or similar) and SQL.
• Experience with message queues or event streaming platforms, specifically Kafka.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with healthcare-specific integration engines such as Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, or Cloverleaf.
• Knowledge of additional healthcare standards like DICOM, CCDA, or IHE profiles.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Prior experience in the healthcare IT domain and clinical workflows.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
