Senior Software Engineer, Infra/Systems

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Convex’s global cloud infrastructure
• Investigate and improve the performance and reliability of systems
• Own architectural decisions that shape the long-term behavior of core systems
• Help establish technical direction and engineering standards
• Work across the stack to write systems and database code
• Collaborate with the engineering team and CTO on technical decisions

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in backend or systems engineering
• Experience building and scaling large-scale systems or core infrastructure
• Strong systems judgment regarding complexity and simplicity
• Experience in fast-moving environments with shifting requirements
• Ability to write high-quality code
• Interest in working in-person at the San Francisco office

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Rust
• Experience with OLTP databases
• Experience operating mission-critical, user-facing live-site services
