Senior Software Engineer - Infrastructure Security

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud-native security services used across Klaviyo
• Own meaningful components and services end to end, from implementation through production operation
• Improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of infrastructure security systems
• Collaborate with senior engineers on system design and architecture
• Identify performance, reliability, and security issues in distributed systems
• Participate in an on-call rotation and contribute to operational excellence
• Build tooling, automation, and documentation to improve developer experience

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and operating cloud-native, distributed systems in production
• Proficiency in Python or Go
• Hands-on experience with AWS and managed services, networking, and IAM
• Experience with containers and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
• Experience writing infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Understanding of scalable, multi-tenant architectures and secure system design
• Strong communication and technical leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building security tooling (Vault, AWS IAM, WAFs)
• Experience with service meshes, API gateways, or zero-trust architectures
• Experience debugging complex multi-service workflows
