Senior Software Engineer, Inertial Navigation

Responsibilities

• Develop algorithms to improve the accuracy and robustness of core state estimation algorithms
• Engineer and deploy robust, production-quality C++ software to fuse data from inertial, GNSS, and other advanced sensors
• Build and maintain tools, pipelines, and evaluation frameworks to assess positioning system performance
• Leverage massive datasets to conduct large-scale analyses, fine-tune sensor models, and identify root causes of failures
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to solve complex technical challenges

Requirements

• MS, PhD or equivalent industry experience
• Expertise in state estimation theory (Kalman Filters, particle filters, factor graphs, nonlinear optimization)
• Deep understanding of inertial navigation principles, sensor modeling, and IMU error characterization
• Strong C++ skills and ability to write high quality production level code

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in the autonomous vehicle industry (localization, perception, or sensor fusion)
• Experience with computer vision, visual inertial odometry, SLAM, or ICP
• Experience with large-scale data analysis tools (SQL, Python, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib)
• Familiarity with machine learning applied to sensor fusion or positioning problems
