Senior Software Engineer in Machine Learning

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on challenging machine learning-based problems from problem framing to deployment
• Survey existing state of the art and implement/improve models
• Constantly improve and stay up-to-date on developments in ML and software engineering
• Guide and mentor junior team members on algorithmic approaches and methodologies

Requirements

• At least four years of experience in practical machine learning application
• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and deep learning
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and Knative
• Experience designing distributed/scalable software systems (microservices, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Ability to produce high-quality production-ready Python code
• Experience developing, training, or fine-tuning ML models in computer vision and NLP
• Ability to act as a technical lead and work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Japanese language ability
• PhD or advanced degree in computer science or a related field
