Senior Software Engineer II - Mobile

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, development, and high-quality release of mobile client features
• Lead the design and evolution of mobile client infrastructure and author engineering design documents
• Trace and resolve complex bugs across service boundaries including GraphQL and device control paths
• Oversee the complete mobile release pipeline using EAS Build, TestFlight, and staged rollouts
• Instrument applications for production stability, monitoring crashes and real-time alert systems
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and elevate team-wide technical standards
• Partner with Product, Design, QA, and DevOps to translate business requirements into mobile technology

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 3+ years of professional React Native experience or 4+ years of native iOS/Android experience
• Deep experience with Expo, EAS tools, and TypeScript
• Proficiency with client-state architectures like React Query, Zustand, or Context
• Experience implementing push notifications (APNs/FCM), WebSockets, and OAuth/OIDC
• Proven success in performance optimization, including profiling startup speed and memory leaks
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to articulate technical tradeoffs

Preferred Qualifications

• Native module development in Swift or Kotlin
• Experience with WebRTC video streaming
• Knowledge of offline synchronization patterns
• Automated mobile testing experience with Detox or Maestro
• Familiarity with Node.js, NestJS, Apollo Federation, or IoT
