Senior Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Build secure tenant isolation, authentication, authorization, and audit across customer organizations
• Implement access boundaries and isolation guarantees for regulated deployments (GxP, FedRAMP)
• Develop resilient backend services in Python/FastAPI
• Own schema design for multi-tenant data and tenant-aware query patterns
• Build services for tenant provisioning, self-serve administration, and onboarding lifecycle
• Support billing, pricing, and metering surfaces
• Own and evolve public APIs (REST, streaming, async) for human developers and autonomous agents
• Ship SDKs and define tool/function interfaces for agents
• Build integration paths connecting MCPs, agents, and data into the platform

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Expertise in API design, multi-tenancy, or authentication/authorization
• Proficiency in Python (FastAPI), Kubernetes, AWS, and databases
• Strong focus on developer experience and backward compatibility
• Ability to debug production issues and own systems end-to-end
• Strong communication skills for working across infra, data, and science teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms requiring SOC 2, HIPAA, or GxP compliance
• Experience with scientific or laboratory data systems (LIMS, ELN, bioinformatics)
• Experience shipping public developer platforms, APIs, or SDKs
• Familiarity with MCP, OpenAPI, or OIDC/OAuth 2.0
• Knowledge of tenant isolation patterns like row-level security or schema-per-tenant
• Experience with policy-based authorization (OPA)
