Senior Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of new advertising capabilities, including ad serving, targeting, and measurement.
• Design, build, and deploy complex software solutions across multiple platforms such as Amex Travel, Resy, and the Amex App.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and internal technology partners to align with strategic priorities.
• Perform high-quality code reviews to ensure seamless performance at scale and regulatory compliance.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers while participating in the recruitment of top technical talent.
• Assess third-party technology solutions for suitability within the emerging advertising platform.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and deploying large-scale products.
• Deep expertise in Java and REST API design.
• Strong experience in Cloud engineering and building digital experiences.
• Proven experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and ensuring system resiliency.
• Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in digital advertising or media network software engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Google Ads Manager or similar advertising products.
• Familiarity with Adobe Experience Cloud or Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with technology roadmapping and strategic planning.
