About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new advertising capabilities, including ad serving, targeting, and measurement.
- Design, build, and deploy complex software solutions across multiple platforms such as Amex Travel, Resy, and the Amex App.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, and internal technology partners to align with strategic priorities.
- Perform high-quality code reviews to ensure seamless performance at scale and regulatory compliance.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers while participating in the recruitment of top technical talent.
- Assess third-party technology solutions for suitability within the emerging advertising platform.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and deploying large-scale products.
- Deep expertise in Java and REST API design.
- Strong experience in Cloud engineering and building digital experiences.
- Proven experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and ensuring system resiliency.
- Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in digital advertising or media network software engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Google Ads Manager or similar advertising products.
- Familiarity with Adobe Experience Cloud or Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with technology roadmapping and strategic planning.
