About the role
Responsibilities
- Function as a technical leader on an agile team, contributing to software builds through consistent development practices and leading code reviews.
- Design and develop high-level and detailed subsystems with a focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability.
- Perform end-to-end software development including prototyping, coding, and debugging complex components.
- Build Proof of Concepts (POCs) to experiment with innovative technologies, databases, and application infrastructure.
- Drive team strategy, prioritize initiatives, and collaborate with peer technology and scrum teams across different locations.
- Take accountability for team success and mentor engineers to improve productivity and results.
Requirements
- Computer Science or Information Systems degree, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in object-oriented languages such as Java (preferred), C++, or Go.
- Extensive experience building distributed micro-service systems and cloud-native applications.
- Hands-on experience with Service Mesh frameworks (e.g., Envoy, Istio) and gRPC/ProtoBuf.
- Proficiency with NoSQL databases (e.g., Redis, Cassandra, Couchbase) and distributed messaging systems like Kafka.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools like Jenkins and Git.
- Experience with distributed system monitoring and tracing (e.g., ELK Stack, Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger).
