Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack)

About the Company

8Fleet is a rapidly growing LA-based technology and logistics startup building the operational infrastructure for both non-autonomous and future autonomous rideshare fleets.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy new features and services across the full stack, including fleet management dashboards and core logistics APIs
• Own the complete lifecycle of features from technical design through production deployment
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to system architecture focusing on scalability
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in database queries and API latency
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for production systems
• Mentor and coach mid-level and junior engineers

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive software engineering experience
• Expert proficiency in a modern backend language such as Python, Go, or Node.js
• Deep proficiency in a modern frontend framework like React, Vue, or Angular
• Proven experience with relational or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Strong understanding of cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Experience with containerization like Docker or Kubernetes
• Demonstrated ability to navigate the entire stack from infrastructure to presentation layer

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with geographical data, mapping services, or real-time tracking systems
• Experience in logistics, rideshare, or mobility-as-a-service industries
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven patterns like Kafka
• Prior experience in a startup or rapid-growth environment
