Senior Software Engineer, Frontend

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex, real-time UI features for conversational interfaces, including chat streaming and dynamic layouts.
• Build high-performance WebSocket pipelines to handle streamed data, retries, and backpressure.
• Optimize scrolling and rendering performance using virtualization, intersection observers, and non-blocking state updates.
• Architect state management and caching strategies to maintain consistency between local UI and backend deltas.
• Collaborate with product design, backend, and AI/ML engineers to deliver accessible, responsive, and pixel-perfect interfaces.
• Mentor teammates through design reviews and pair programming while contributing to shared component libraries.
• Instrument client-side telemetry to measure render latency, streaming lag, and user interaction speed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional frontend development experience in a production environment.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript with a deep understanding of asynchronous browser behavior.
• Experience with Svelte, React, or other modern component-based UI frameworks.
• Proven experience integrating real-time or streaming data (e.g., WebSockets, SSE) into user interfaces.
• Strong debugging and performance profiling skills using tools like Chrome DevTools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with AI/LLM-powered interfaces and progressive streaming UIs.
• Experience with data-rich visualization frameworks.
• Experience building and maintaining design systems with Storybook or Tailwind.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA).
