Senior Software Engineer, Flight Software

Responsibilities

• Integral member of the team defining and building Muon’s satellite bus platform
• Translate concepts and requirements into design and working implementations
• Design, bring up, and support the embedded software environment using ARM Cortex-M CPUs
• Write application, platform, and driver functionality in the flight software environment
• Integrate compute and peripheral subsystems in both software and hardware
• Collaborate with hardware team members on design and bring up
• Participate in developing software and hardware-in-the-loop test strategies

Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field
• 8+ years experience as a software engineer in a team environment
• Strong C/C++ programming skills
• Deep understanding of embedded systems fundamentals (RTOS, low-level drivers, IRQ handling, I/O buses)
• Experience with integration and control of external hardware devices
• Ability to read and understand hardware data sheets

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of ProtoBuf, YAML, or JSON
• Familiarity with Linux-based development environments
• Experience with embedded Linux, FPGA, HW design, or RF communication systems
• Experience with cloud/server infrastructure or network architecture
