Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and develop high-quality, scalable, and testable software modules based on user requirements.
• Create, execute, and maintain comprehensive unit tests, integration tests, and validation procedures.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance to software engineers to promote consistent development practices.
• Take ownership of complex tasks, including troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolving technical issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and refine coding guidelines and development standards.
• Evaluate existing systems and recommend upgrades, optimizations, and modernization strategies.
• Partner with Corporate IT to support the installation, configuration, and management of IT infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or Associate's degree plus 2 years of additional relevant experience).
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience working with Object-Oriented Programming and relational database systems.
• Expert-level proficiency in C#, .NET, and SQL Server.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles and design patterns.
• Experience with front-end development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Working knowledge of Crystal Reports.
• Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
• Ability to reside within a commutable distance to Des Moines, IA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience mentoring or coaching other developers.
• Familiarity with database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration tools and practices.
• Experience with Windows server environments.
