Senior Software Engineer, Emerging Products & Integration

Responsibilities

• Build and prototype new capabilities from 0 to 1, iterating based on real-world feedback
• Design and deliver clean APIs, SDKs, and middleware to enable interoperability between distributed sensors and command systems
• Develop backend services and middleware (Rust preferred) to ingest, process, and route data
• Apply networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/REST, WebSockets) to design system interactions and debug connectivity issues
• Design and operate reliable, scalable distributed systems capable of handling real-time data
• Support field deployments by working alongside engineers to debug and deploy solutions in real time
• Translate ambiguous mission requirements into actionable technical designs and working implementations

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping production-grade software systems
• Proficiency in one or more of the following: Rust, Python, or C/C++
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/REST)
• Experience with distributed systems, including handling real-time data and fault tolerance
• Proven ability to rapidly prototype and iterate under tight timelines
• Ability to travel up to 50% to support customer sites and integration events

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with embedded systems or device-level software
• Background in security, robotics, autonomy, or edge systems
• Frontend experience with React or similar frameworks
• Experience building SDKs or integration tooling
• Experience working in startup or rapid R&D (0 to 1) environments
