Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and maintenance of high-quality software, owning solutions from architecture through deployment
• Build scalable systems using AWS, Python, MongoDB, and modern technologies
• Embed security best practices across the full software development lifecycle
• Own and improve CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable, repeatable deployments
• Apply site reliability engineering principles to strengthen system performance and resilience
• Partner with product management to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Design clean, consistent RESTful APIs
• Provide technical support and lead incident investigations
• Champion Scrum and foster a collaborative, learning-oriented team environment
• Support frontend tasks as needed across the stack

Requirements

• Significant industry experience building production software
• Deep Python expertise with clean, logical code
• Proven experience building production APIs with FastAPI or similar async Python frameworks
• Hands-on experience deploying AWS infrastructure as code (IaC)
• Degree-level qualification in computer science or related field
• Experience with DevOps and MLOps
• Solid grasp of software design patterns, SOLID and DRY principles, and architectural patterns
• Confidence with Git/GitHub, Docker, containerisation, Linux, bash, and the command line
• Command of the testing pyramid and automated testing types
• Familiarity with modern statistical ML and AI tooling, including NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas
• Track record of collaborating in a fast-paced agile team, ideally using Scrum

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's-level qualification in a STEM field
• Frontend experience with HTML, CSS, React, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Eye for UI/UX design principles
• Experience with PyTorch or other deep-learning libraries
• Understanding of Bayesian statistics
