Senior Software Engineer, Developer Experience

Responsibilities

• Identify workflow bottlenecks in build, test, release, and local development to build tools that measurably reduce toil
• Create and maintain "golden paths" such as service templates, CLIs, libraries, and automation
• Design reusable, fast, and safe CI pipelines and deployment workflows
• Improve build and test reliability by reducing flakiness and implementing caching
• Establish shared observability primitives including metrics, logs, and traces to ensure services are production-ready
• Partner with product engineers to improve SLOs, alerting hygiene, and dashboards
• Build and improve core platform capabilities to help scale services effectively

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building production software with a focus on platform, devtools, or infrastructure
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript/JS
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and designing scalable pipelines
• Practical experience with observability in production systems (instrumentation, alerting, dashboards)
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern cloud infrastructure
• Strong track record of improving developer experience through measurable outcomes
• Excellent cross-team collaboration and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with monorepos and large-scale CI performance optimization
• Experience building internal platforms, service templates, or developer portals
• Infrastructure-as-code experience (e.g., Terraform)
• Security-minded approach to software supply chains
• Experience applying AI-assisted tooling to improve engineering effectiveness
