Senior Software Engineer - Database Engine Internals

Responsibilities

• Design and implement next-generation decoupled query engines and structured storage systems
• Work on query compilation and optimization
• Develop distributed query execution and scheduling
• Build vectorized execution engines
• Implement data security and resource management
• Handle transaction coordination
• Develop efficient storage structures including encodings and indexes
• Implement automatic physical data optimization

Requirements

• Passion for database systems, storage systems, or distributed systems
• Experience with language design or performance optimization
• Ability to work towards a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables
• Motivation to deliver customer value and impact
• 5+ years of experience in a related system preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in databases or distributed systems
