Senior Software Engineer, Data Products

About the Company

Latica is building a secure data network and medical intelligence platform that gives the healthcare ecosystem rapid, safe access to de-identified real-world health and patient data to accelerate R&D and improve diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect complex, scalable systems end-to-end
• Design, build, and own scalable data pipelines for real-world health data
• Architect and implement production-grade AI-driven services for medical data analysis
• Build and operate robust backend services, APIs, and data products
• Tackle distributed systems problems including low-latency access and fault tolerance
• Plan and build connection layers for EHR platforms and health APIs
• Own cloud infrastructure end-to-end using repeatable and observable systems
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, testing, and observability

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production software systems
• Fluency in Python and high-scale data pipelines
• Strong grasp of distributed systems and software architecture
• Experience building complex data pipelines and cloud-native systems on AWS
• Ability to work in a fast-moving startup environment with high ownership

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building Large Language Model (LLM) pipelines
• Experience working with medical or clinical data (EHR, FHIR, HL7)
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare security requirements
• Exposure to ML pipelines or feature stores
• Degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field
