Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain Linux-based systems and embedded Rust agents for the ControlOne Bridge product
• Design and implement network configurations and protocols for SOHO router/firewall performance and security
• Manage and troubleshoot Linux servers at scale in customer and private cloud environments
• Analyze and optimize network performance via Linux frame and packet routing decisions
• Implement and maintain observability stacks including metrics, logs, events, and traces
• Debug complex production issues using deep stack trace analysis and network troubleshooting
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver full-stack features and maintain API contracts
• Automate build, deployment, and monitoring workflows using CI/CD and infrastructure as code

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in Python and Rust
• Expertise in Linux server administration and management at scale
• Deep understanding of computer networking (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing)
• Strong knowledge of the Linux network stack
• Experience with embedded systems development and firmware updates
• Expertise in observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or ELK/Loki
• Proficiency in performance analysis using eBPF, profilers, and Linux tools like tcpdump or iptables
• Familiarity with containerization including Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Git and CI/CD systems like GitHub Actions or CircleCI
