Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software systems and applications
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hardware engineers and system architects
• Analyze user needs and system requirements
• Advise hardware designers on machine characteristics such as storage, processing speed, and I/O
• Design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems software
• Perform software troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning
• Support system integration, modernization, and enhancement initiatives
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and system specifications
• Analyze and resolve Action Requests and ABENDs
• Develop micro-applications using VBA within Microsoft Office products

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance
• 5–8 years of hands-on experience with either Oracle, COGNOS, and JavaScript OR Broadcom Endevor
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with IDMS database and COBOL programming
• Knowledge of JCL and Assembler programming (IBM mainframe)
• Experience with REXX scripting and MQ Series
• Proficiency in z/OS mainframe environments (TSO, ISPF, SDSF)
• Experience with VBA and MS Access/Excel development
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or government environments
• Familiarity with DFAS, DoD, or civilian payroll systems
