Senior Software Engineer, Cloud, Simulation

Founded in 2017, Wayve is the leading developer of Embodied AI technology. Our advanced AI software and foundation models enable vehicles to perceive, understand, and navigate any complex environment, enhancing the usability and safety of automated driving systems.

Responsibilities

• Evolve a core component of Wayve’s simulation platform used to develop and evaluate driving intelligence
• Shape and implement the technical roadmap for robot emulator fidelity, visual fidelity, or efficient scaling
• Own key performance indicators (KPIs) for simulator cost, SLOs, throughput, and latency
• Lead technical discussions and guide technical direction
• Integrate simulated robot components and machine-learned graphics subsystems into the simulation platform
• Implement production quality software in Python

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience designing and programming software
• Excellent development skills in Python
• Experience with workflow orchestration systems (e.g. Airflow, Dagster, Flyte)
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes at the user level
• Strong understanding of systems and data-oriented software engineering design
• Understanding of software performance issues and design tradeoffs
• Excellent communication and people engagement skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in autonomous vehicles or robotics
• Proficiency with Go or C++
• Experience scaling simulations or data-intensive workloads
• Experience with large-scale machine learning inference systems in cloud GPU environments
• Experience with machine-learned graphics techniques such as NeRF, Gaussian Splatting, or GenAI
