Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Security

Responsibilities

• Improve the security of cloud architecture across AWS environments
• Embed security into the software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Implement and manage security tooling
• Partner with engineering teams to remediate vulnerabilities
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows
• Build automated security checks, policy-as-code, and guardrails
• Design and enforce least-privilege access models
• Establish logging, monitoring, and alerting for infrastructure and applications
• Lead response to cloud and application security incidents
• Ensure systems meet ISO 27001 regulatory requirements
• Define policies for secure development and cloud usage
• Mentor engineers on cloud and application security practices

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree (or 8 years with a Master's)
• Proficiency in Python, Ansible, AWS, and Terraform
• Experience with ISO 27001 compliance frameworks
• Experience with AWS IAM roles and policy management
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
• Experience with container orchestration including Docker and Kubernetes/EKS
• Ability to negotiate security trade-offs with IT, Computational Scientists, and ML engineers
