Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new features and APIs for phila.gov
• Perform UI development and full-stack engineering tasks
• Review code within a Git flow process
• Write unit tests and monitor launched features
• Support the WordPress platform and migrate to Directus CMS
• Collaborate with stakeholders using agile software development processes
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative environment

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience developing modern web applications in production
• Experience writing software patterns for an enterprise CMS
• Proficiency with SQL or Postgres databases
• Strong full stack development skills
• Background working with AWS and cloud infrastructure
• Ability to work with component-based web frameworks (Vue.js preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying and supporting applications on AWS
• Experience writing clear technical documentation
• Background building or maintaining a CMS for a large organization
• Ability to debug complex problems using logical patterns
