Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own high-quality features and systems that power the Cash App Taxes filing experience
• Translate complex tax rules and requirements into clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Build tools and guardrails that enable non-technical contributors to make code changes safely
• Drive architectural and design decisions to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability
• Mentor teammates through code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing
• Apply an AI-first mindset to raise the bar of AI application on the team

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong technical skills in backend development, system design, and architecture
• Experience in object-oriented programming
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Experience in the tax industry
• Experience in a fast-paced or product-centric environment
