About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support U.S. Department of War software acquisition and sustainment efforts, including architecture analysis, engineering, and testing
  • Lead software development efforts from concept through deployment, focusing on C++ and browser-supported languages like C#, Java, and Angular
  • Provide technical expertise for mission-critical planning and readiness applications
  • Analyze lifecycle artifacts and existing source code to identify technical debt and modernization opportunities
  • Develop prototypes and technical demonstrations to reduce risk and inform acquisition decisions
  • Create and maintain design artifacts such as data-flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, and interface control definitions
  • Lead and mentor development teams while promoting disciplined engineering practices
  • Support customer engagements including technical interchange meetings and design reviews

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active Department of War (DoW) security clearance
  • Experience leading, architecting, or developing large-scale acquisition programs
  • Experience with mission-critical or safety-critical embedded software applications
  • Experience supporting major DoW acquisition organizations
  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 10 years of experience; OR MS with 8 years of experience; OR PhD with 5 years of experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to sponsor sites and conferences
