Senior Software Engineer

BMLL is the leading independent provider of harmonised Level 3, 2 and 1 historical data and analytics across global equities, ETFs, futures and US equity options. We provide market participants with immediate access to granular T+1 order book data and advanced analytics, enabling them to accelerate research, optimise trading strategies, and better understand market behavior.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure microservices for core SaaS products
• Adopt and champion AI engineering tools and LLM-driven coding assistants
• Collaborate with Product Owners to translate financial data requirements into engineering tasks
• Contribute to AWS infrastructure and maintain operational excellence using CloudWatch
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and technical guidance
• Write well-tested, maintainable code and contribute to CI/CD pipelines

Requirements

• Experience developing B2B SaaS applications using Python REST APIs and microservices
• Practical experience with AWS (Cognito, Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway, S3, IAM) and Terraform
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL for relational data modelling and query optimization
• Hands-on experience with AI engineering tools like Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor
• Proven ability to design and deliver solutions in an agile environment
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with engineering and product stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in data science or financial data visualization using TypeScript
• Exposure to high-performance SaaS in capital markets or FinTech
• Familiarity with AWS services like SQS, SNS, or Step Functions
• Knowledge of big data tools such as DuckDB, pandas, Spark, or Snowflake
• Exposure to LLM orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex
