Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build new features into the banking platform to meet the needs of Block's portfolio
• Partner with engineering teams across Block to onboard products to SFS
• Build secure and compliant systems for sensitive customer data
• Prioritize correctness and fault-tolerance in system designs
• Utilize AI tools to accelerate development and streamline the engineering lifecycle
• Ensure continued operation of critical services and design durable fixes for issues
• Lead technical design, execution, and delivery of large-scale features
• Mentor teammates to elevate engineering standards

Requirements

• 6+ years of software development experience
• 1+ years of experience leading large-scale feature delivery
• Hands-on experience building software products or services in the cloud
• Experience building software that is easy to observe and operate
• Proficiency with AWS and Kotlin
• Experience building public APIs
• Background in financial infrastructure, ledgers, or systems-of-record
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
