About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and build new features into the banking platform to meet the needs of Block's portfolio
- Partner with engineering teams across Block to onboard products to SFS
- Build secure and compliant systems for sensitive customer data
- Prioritize correctness and fault-tolerance in system designs
- Utilize AI tools to accelerate development and streamline the engineering lifecycle
- Ensure continued operation of critical services and design durable fixes for issues
- Lead technical design, execution, and delivery of large-scale features
- Mentor teammates to elevate engineering standards
Requirements
- 6+ years of software development experience
- 1+ years of experience leading large scale features
- Hands-on experience building software products or services in the cloud
- Track record of building observable and operable software
- Proficiency with AWS and Kotlin
- Experience building public APIs
- Background in financial infrastructure, ledgers, or systems-of-record
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
