Senior Software Engineer, Behavior Prediction- Planning

Responsibilities

• Own prediction improvements within the Planning team
• Advance prediction models and collaborate with ML teams on learned models, outputs, and uncertainty
• Improve prediction-planning interfaces including confidence, intent representation, and fallback behavior
• Collaborate on projects to improve planning behavior in uncertain scenarios
• Define metrics and evaluation frameworks for prediction quality
• Analyze prediction-related planning failures using logs, simulation, and metrics
• Lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• Strong experience with behavior prediction, trajectory prediction, or actor intent modeling
• Proficiency in C++
• Experience working with planning systems and understanding prediction impact on safety and comfort
• Ability to analyze complex autonomy failures using logs, metrics, and simulation
• Strong collaboration skills across Perception, Planning, ML, Simulation, and Systems teams
• System-level judgment regarding prediction uncertainty and safety

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python
