About the role
Responsibilities
- Own prediction improvements within the Planning team
- Advance prediction models and collaborate with ML teams on learned models, outputs, and uncertainty
- Improve prediction-planning interfaces including confidence, intent representation, and fallback behavior
- Collaborate on projects to improve planning behavior in uncertain scenarios
- Define metrics and evaluation frameworks for prediction quality
- Analyze prediction-related planning failures using logs, simulation, and metrics
- Lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers
Requirements
- Strong experience with behavior prediction, trajectory prediction, or actor intent modeling
- Proficiency in C++
- Experience working with planning systems and understanding prediction impact on safety and comfort
- Ability to analyze complex autonomy failures using logs, metrics, and simulation
- Strong collaboration skills across Perception, Planning, ML, Simulation, and Systems teams
- System-level judgment regarding prediction uncertainty and safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python
