Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Responsibilities

• Build extremely large-scale platform products and services used by engineers and millions of consumers
• Work with Product and Design teams to iterate software from ideation to production deployment
• Lead efforts to evaluate new technologies and push for best practices in code and design reviews
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
• Participate in Agile development processes including scoping, technical design, coding, testing, and maintenance

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems
• 5+ years working with cloud-based platforms and infrastructure
• Deep experience building microservices using Java for Docker or Kubernetes
• Solid understanding of databases such as Aurora MySQL and DynamoDB
• Hands-on experience with AWS services like ALB, ECS, or RDS
• Proficiency with protocols and data formats including REST, WebSockets, HTTPS, JSON, and Protobuf
• Understanding of system concepts like eventual consistency and CAP theorem
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
